On March 3, 2025, the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (FASVM) and the Faculty of Fisheries, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF), were honored to welcome Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akos Kenez from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) as part of a visit to promote future research collaboration.
During this visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akos Kenez delivered a seminar to introduce his research on the use of black soldier flies in animal production — a promising solution to optimize animal feed sources and reduce environmental impact. The topic garnered significant interest from HUAF’s faculty members and students, especially in the context of the livestock sector’s ongoing pursuit of sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions
Following the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akos Kenez held a discussion with representatives from the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Fisheries regarding potential directions for research collaboration, academic exchange, and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of animal and aquaculture sciences. Both parties expressed a strong desire to promote cooperative programs and leverage each institution’s research strengths to deliver practical outcomes for the livestock industry.
The visit and working session of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akos Kenez opened up significant opportunities for collaboration between HUAF and CityU, promising new advancements in research and the practical application of science toward sustainable livestock production.
